Being a club member

There’s plenty to get involved in

Build layouts together

Get involved in planning, constructing and developing club layouts—from tracklaying and wiring to buildings, scenery and the finishing touches.

Run your trains

Bring your locomotives and rolling stock to run on our dedicated tracks, enjoy operating trains and compare notes with fellow modellers.

Take layouts on tour

Join the team taking layouts to exhibitions across the country. Help set up, operate trains and share the layout’s story with visitors.

Enjoy club outings

Enjoy outings with fellow members, share your railway interests and get to know people beyond the clubroom.

Workshop evenings

Learn practical skills, exchange techniques and work through modelling challenges at workshop evenings for members.

Workshops for younger members

Give younger members a chance to try practical modelling, develop new skills and share the fun of the hobby. Contact us to find out more.

Club evenings

You don’t need a layout of your own to enjoy being part of the club. Bring your ideas, your questions and your enthusiasm. There’s room to learn from one another, work on a shared project, or simply enjoy a conversation over a tea or coffee.

Come and meet us

Tell us what interests you using our membership enquiry form. The membership team will get in touch to talk about joining and visiting the club.

For younger-member workshops, contact the club to find out more.

We’re run by volunteers. Emails aren’t monitored daily, so please allow time for a reply.
